The Runner
For this project my group was required to write a three page script with the theme of a twist and a tale that would be 3 minutes long. We decided to title this script The Runner.
For this part of the project I was the script editor, where I made the hard decisions of what to leave in and what we could take out to reach the 3 pages requirement.
After a few drafts we submitted a script we were happy with, which was the one below. On the day we of shooting elements change as they do in every film but the journey of the story is in this script below. You can watch an edited version of this short film here, or read it by clicking this PDF document below, which was written on the platform WriterDuet.

The Method Man
For this project, my group was required to write a 12-page film script. The story revolves around an actor who gets a computer chip implant to make him transform into the characters he plays. The film explores the relationship the actor has with his long-suffering PA who reluctantly has to help him.
My role was to co-write the script. I produced two drafts while my co-writer did likewise. We then collaborated to produce the final draft. I enjoyed working independently and collaboratively to produce these scripts. The scripts were written on the platform WriterDuet. You can read this by clicking on the pdf file.

Brochure
While working with the Mullingar Youth Project, I designed a brochure to promote the organisation and showcase the range of services they offer. These included Grange United, UBU, and the Targeted Youth Employment Scheme Initiative (TYESI). I used Canva to design the overall layout, and created custom background visuals for each section in Affinity Designer. Each background was tailored to reflect the unique identity and focus of the individual programmes, rather than following a single cohesive theme.
This was an enjoyable project that allowed me to apply and build on the digital design skills I developed during my time at UCD.

As part of my role at Mullingar Youth Project, I was asked to design a pamphlet for the local football club, Grange United. I created the layout using Canva and intentionally kept the design consistent with the brochure I had previously made for the wider organisation.
This decision was based on the idea of maintaining a unified visual identity across all marketing materials. Using a consistent colour scheme and style helps build brand recognition and makes it easier for the audience to identify the organisation’s materials at a glance.

Young voters
.jpg)
Working at the Westmeath Examiner, I wrote a vox pop article where I interviewed people around the town of Mullingar to see if they thought that the voting age should be lowered to 17 years old. 3/7 of the people who I interviewed believed that the voting age should be lowered while the rest considered 17 years olds to be too young to make these types of decisions. Attach is the word document of the article I wrote which you can read.
